– Jade:  their Signature Junior suite is an outer room on the ground floor of the second building, on the left as you look at it from the sea.  Book this room with your nearest and dearest and you will love its huge terrace and plunge pool, Jade is almost like your own private villa.

Don’t worry, though, if Jade is already booked as there are a wonderful 18 rooms in total at the Peninsula Gardens Hotel – each with its amazing views and delightful decorations of onyx and marble.  All rooms at the Peninsula Gardens are decorated to a very high standard.  They feature huge King-sized beds, which can be separated into capacious single beds if required.  Even the poolside décor has been carefully considered. The decks and terraces have juniper trees, whose sweet, pine-like aroma is enhanced by the splashes of water from the pools.  Juniper is widely used in aromatherapy and has a long tradition of use in healing and meditation.

There are large 42”plasma TVs in every room, with DVD players, ipod docking stations, WiFii reception and satellite reception offering channels in multiple languages.  You have tea and coffee making facilities and the finest Molton Brown toiletries.  Room service is available between 08:00 and midnight, allowing you to enjoy selections from the hotel’s excellent menus in the privacy and comfort of your balcony or terrace.  Local charges apply.

But by far the most stunning feature of each room – apart from the views – is the large inset mural of pure onyx, which glows serenely in the setting sun. The onyx motif is continued with the floor lights set around the king-sized beds.  After dark, turn off all the lights except these onyx lamps; the light is warm, magical and romantic.

Dining and relaxation

The restaurant and bar at The Peninsula Gardens have lovely views of the sea and the islands. The hotel has rapidly become renowned for the quality and variety of its cuisine.

The Pool

There is a substantial indoor pool measuring 25m x 5m, a Turkish bath, a steam room, sauna and massage rooms, as well as a small fitness suite.  The outdoor pool has wave effects, adding a dimension of fun to the magic of its infinity design.

You can also stretch out with some invigorating yoga and pilates, courtesy of Elixir’s representative at the hotel.  One to one sessions can be arranged in the privacy of your own terrace and a local charge applies.  Down by the sea, the wooden decks are thoughtfully set on different levels to give you more privacy as you bask in the sunshine.
